9. Should I write about good and bad things in my life?
ReplyDeleteYes, you can do this, but you have to be careful. You should never use the full names of any of your friends or anyone you know. You should also not use your address or the name of your school or any location you mention.
9. Should you only allow your family and close friends to be listed as your friends?
ReplyDeleteNot neccessarily. Sometimes it is nice to keep in touch with old classmates, friends you know from camps, sports, etc. You can allow others to be listed as your friends, IF you know them. NEVER accept a friend request from a stranger. I made that mistake once and the person kept asking where I live, etc...which leads me to the next question...
10.Should you list where you hang-out?
Listing where you hang out may not be a good idea, but if you feel that it is absolutely necessary, give as little detail as possible. NEVER give an address or specifics of where you will be or when. Instead, simply say "Visiting a friend." Or rather than "Going to the pool on such and such street..." say "out for the day." Its ok to be a little mysterious, and its safer that way.
7. Should you express opinions in autobiographies?
ReplyDeleteI would say since an autobiography is about your life that you would not want to use opinions. On a site I looked at it gave an outline of an autobiography and it had nothing to do with opinions.
8. How should I keep my autobiography to a minimum? In my opinion, to keep you autobiography to a minimum, just give an outline of the activities, accomplishments, etc. that you have had in your life. Do not go into detail on everything. For example, if you won the spelling bee in the 3rd grade and you're wanting to put that in your autobiography, just put "in the 3rd grade, I won my school's spelling bee." You don't need to say "in the first round, I spelled the word 'lamppost', in the second round I spelled the word 'victim'. So just make sure you talk about the main points not the little details.
ReplyDelete17. Should you tell about your feelings toward others in autobiography? It is important to remember that an autobiograhpy is about you and not others, so I think you are allowed to express your feelings as long as you do not make the focus on the other person. However, I would keep talking about your feelings to a minimum. Feelings change at any moment and when you write about them, they are recorded forever. So, yes you can talk about your feelings but I would not reccommend it.
ReplyDelete11. Is it ok to ignore friend requests?
ReplyDeleteYes, it is ok to ignore friend requests. Especially if you don't know who they are! If there is anything you find on the internet that makes you uncomfortable, talk to a parent or gaurdian about it and have them steer you in the right direction.
12. Is it ok to list my school?
Absolutely not! Never give out any information online that could let someone know where you might be. I personally don't give out any information that gives any clue as to where I might live or be going. This is just not safe. Even when you think your profile or website may be secure and only friends can see it, it actually may not be. Anything can be hacked at any time. Any time you consider posting anything on the internet always talk to a parent or gaurdian about it.
1)Should you put a picture of yourself on your profile? I think that it is alright to put a picture of yourself on your profile. I have a picture of myself on my profile.
ReplyDelete2)Should you put your phone number on your profile? No, you should not put your phone number on your profile. I have never put my phone number on any of my profiles. It is never a good idea to put that kind of personal information on your profile.
1) Should you tell the absolute truth in an autobiography? It is best to tell the truth. If there is something you would rather not share with people it would be best to not include the information instead of making up a lie or altering the story.
ReplyDelete2) What is the most important thing to include? When writing an autobiography it is not necessary to include every detail of your life. Instead only worry about including the highlights of your life.
16. What are some good describing words to use in an autobiography?
ReplyDeleteUse any descriptive word or term that allows your reader to "feel" the setting and the emotions as you experienced them. You can use words that explain how something looked, felt, tasted, smelled, sounded, or etc. Some examples include:
Happy, sad, angry, excited, eager, patient, small, large, bright, beautiful, ugly, colorful, dull, salty, sour, hot, bitter, sweet, burnt, earthy, fresh, rotten, quiet, loud, smart, funny, honest, emotional, gentle, mean, energetic, and many many MORE!
A great web-site I found that breaks the adjectives down into specific lists for certain situations is; http://descriptivewords.org/
10. Should I write about family members in an autobiography?
ReplyDeleteYes, to a certain point. I would write about the family member that have influenced you the most. However, I feel as though I would only use first names and never include last names. If you wanted to you could even change the names completely. The autobiography is more about the influences instead of the names.
5. How would you end an autobiography?
ReplyDeleteConsidering an autobiography is basically a story of one’s life; there are a few ways to end one. Ending an autobiography on what you are currently doing with your life may be the most effective thing. Another option might be to end on what you plan on doing with your life in the future. Also it may be interesting to make a relation to something from your past that got you in the position of your life currently.
6. Should I write about every time I've been injured?
Sometimes stories on injuries tend to be interesting, especially the outcome of injuries. Every essay should probably be based on something other than an injury. This would eventually get boring and repetitive especially if you haven’t had many injuries. It’s no fun to continuously write about the same topics. So switching up the topic allows you as a writer to grow and learn by writing new things.
7.) Should you use your real first and last name?
ReplyDeleteI personally think that it is okay to use your real first and last name. Blogging sites, facebook, myspace, and any other communication sites can easily be found by friends or family if you use your real name. However, using your real name does not mean using your real address, phone number, social security number, or any other personal information. Having this kind of information floating around the world wide web is unsafe and anyone can access it.
8.)What do you do if you think someone has stolen your password?
If you think someone has stolen your password, then immediatley you need to change that password. Make sure that this new password is safe and not obvious. Also, look around on your site. See if anything has changed like important information or even simple things. Once you have done this, do not let any one know your new password. If, however, someone changed your password and you cannot get onto your site, you should immediatley contact the site coordinator or delete your page. You do not want anyone fooling around pretending to be you. That can be very dangerous and unsafe for not only you but the people that view your page.
17. What if someone steals your identity and pretends to be you?
ReplyDeleteYou have to be careful with the information you put on the internet. Anyone can see it and have information about you they could use for things you really don't want them to.
For your age - If someone does find out your password to online sites you visit, chat, and post on and uses it to pretend to be you on websites or to your friends you can always tell your friends what happened, tell the owner of the site what happened by an email saying you want whatever was posted by this other person taken down, and change your password to something new.
For adults - It's a bit more complicated then that. When adults have their identity stolen there are many things that have to be done. Just like someone your age should not post things like what street they live on, what school they go to, how old you are, your last name, your phone number, etc neither should adults. But because they are adults, and think they can protect themselves despite what information they hand out to strangers they don't realize how easy that makes it for people to steal their identity and pretend to be them not just online but all over. As for how to fix it, I honestly don't know step by step how you would fix it as an adult because different sources say different things, the only thing they all agree on is that it's not easy, and preventing it from happening by not giving out such information is the best way to handle it.
18. Is it bad to add someone from a different state that you don't know, but think you have become great friends with him/her on the internet?
Well I wouldn't say it's 'bad' but I also don't think at your age it's a good idea if you're adding them to something that has a lot of information about you. Mostly because you don't know if this person is really the person they say they are and if they really want to be your friend or actually have some other motive in mind. Remember you don't have to be honest on the internet and it's possible this friend from another state could be lying about how old they are, if they're a boy or girl, what state they actually live in, etc. As I said it's not 'bad' but you need to be careful about what you allow people you don't know to see and know about you.
Product 2 Question 2. How far should you go back into your life?
ReplyDeleteYou should go back as far as you can remember
11. Do you think the introduction and summary are more important than the beginning and middle paragraphs?
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that the beginning and middle paragraphs would be more important than the introduction and summary. While all parts of your autobiography are important, without the beginning and middle paragraphs there would not be much information to introduce or summarize.

15. Should you lie about your profile just to sound "cool"? No, you should not lie just to sound cool. First of all lying isn't cool to beginning with, and if you do lie on your profile in get caught in that lie, it would be very embarrassing.
ReplyDelete16. What is an online predator? An online predator an internet user who, who searches the internet looking for children to take advantage of. They exploit vulnerable children or teens. If you come across a person you think is a predator you should tell a trusted adult immediately, and never ever meet with someone in person you just know from the internet without talking to a trusted adult first.
